Memorial Day Weekend

This past holiday weekend turned out to be full of friends, family, fun and the sun.

On Friday, we enjoyed being at home and spending some quality family time together.

Saturday was a full day.  It began with a trip to a local nursery to begin the process of making our backyard own tropical paradise, then a couple of hours over at our friends, The Hills, pool for some fun in the sun, and then Mama Nelle and Monica in town for the evening.  Hunter really seems to enjoy the pool and was mesmerized by all the older kids.

Happy Boy!

Don't worry the beer was empty!

Rayna and Hunter

Sunday was just as busy as we realized we needed to make another trip to the nursery to finish out one of the beds and to get stuff for another.  We then ended up back at The Hills for another pool party and stayed until way after the sun went down.

Monday was a bit more relaxed!  We stayed home and enjoyed our own pool in the afternoon.  It was no doubt a full weekend but we enjoyed every minute!

Teeth Times 6!!

About two weeks ago, I noticed that Hunter was making a new little face where he scrunches up his nose and squints his eyes.  Finally I realized it was because he was getting in his two top teeth or so I thought!!!  Turns out he has ended up cutting the four front teeth and now the two canines in a matter of two maybe three weeks!!!  He really doesn't complain much but he does have a little less patience.  We have been giving him Tylenol and rubbing orajel on them on the days he seems particularly aggravated.  Only 14 more teeth to go!!!

Nana

I am truly blessed to have my mom in my life for a variety of reasons but the one reason I am most thankful for is the fact that she takes care of my precious little man while I work.  I know that they are forming bonds that will last a lifetime and I love that they have this opportunity.

Hunter loves Nana's 'seeing eye dogs' that she wears around her neck and the fact that she will let him try new foods that Momma isn't so sure he should try just yet: scalloped potatoes, McDonald's hamburger and fries, brownies, etc!

There have been many times that I have come home and they are rocking and singing songs just as happy as can be! But, the best was when I came around the corner from working in my home office one day to find them asleep on the couch together.  Clearly they wore each other out!

8 Months

Our little man is changing rapidly!  He is now a proficient crawler, loves to snack on puffs, and is pulling up on any and everything he can.  He is still successfully sleeping through the night and there have actually been a few occasions when Joe and I have woken up before him.

His favorite toy in the house is his new walker!  He loves being able to cruise around the house or outside around the pool.  I think his favorite part of it is the fact that he can now chase down the dogs.  Not so sure the dogs love this new past time but they tolerate it because it is their baby!

Sleep Training

I am not sure what finally made me decide to really do it.....could have been the fact that after nearly 8 months of not sleeping more than 4 hours at a time got to me....but for the past two weeks we have been in the process of sleep training.  It has not been easy and there have been times when I really questioned whether or not it was worth it but now that he is sleeping through the night I can comfortably say it was worth it.  I have renewed energy and he is even happier than he was, if that is even possible!
